Gearing Up for the Hunt

Al and Zack gearing up for huntingMarch is upon us and those of us who enjoy the out of doors have lots to do. March is the month to polish off your hunting season plans. Planning a hunt out of state or out of the country? Many states, including Montana where I spend a good deal of time, require applications to be in by March 15 if you wish to hunt big game. Get your buddies together, your plans in place and your applications in.

If you have not been on a spring turkey hunt you have missed one of the great joys of hunting. Check out spring turkey hunts in your area and give it a go.

This is also when I take a good inventory of my equipment, replacing and upgrading where needed. This week I ordered new boot foot waders from Orvis and will soon purchase a Leupold Range Finder. After a fall/winter hunting season that started last September I also found time to clean out my truck and TruckVault replacing Kent Impact Goose Loads with sporting clays loads and slipped in fly rods for a planned fishing trip to the Missouri River which will happen in a couple of weeks.

By the way, Zach recently enjoyed his 2nd birthday. Gifts included his very own sack of Beggin Strips. Which also reminds me - it’s a perfect time to start a new pup, Zach came from Coyote Creek Retrievers. If you want a great lab give Jim & Maxine a call.

It seems those of us who enjoy the outdoor sports are either out there, thinking about being out there or preparing to be out there. March is a great time to get everything organized and your plans in place. Remember nothing organizes and protects your transported valuables better than a TruckVault.
