My good friend Tom and I have enjoyed the privilege of hunting in corn fields owned by local dairy farmers for several years.  Rather than construct multiple blinds this year we decided to build a movable blind that can be easily moved from place to place.  Starting with a small trailer we fabricated an armature to support the corn stalks.  This caused a great deal of speculation in the neighborhood.  We told anyone that asked “what the hell is it?” that it is going to be a float in the Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Of course they wandered off shaking their heads knowing they were dealing with a couple of old kooks.  So what? We were having fun. 

Yesterday the sun was shining and a perfect afternoon to pull the “blind” to the field and attach the corn.  Will it fool the geese?  I think so.  Take a look at the pictures and decide for yourself. 

I also found time this week to make the seasonal transfer of equipment in my TruckVault.  Fly rods have been replaced with shotguns, coats, duck and goose calls and the equipment needed for the fall hunting seasons.  If you don’t have a TruckVault now is a perfect time to call and order.  Three week delivery is assured.
