Considering I am once again getting ready to take off to Montana I had best fire a TruckVault News your way. Yes, I had a delightful time on my last Montana visit. Notable things that come to mind include but are not limited to:
Bow Hunting - After putting together the perfect plan to bag a large, yes, a very large 4 point prairie Mule Deer I pulled the big no no. Assuming the deer would work his way up a long wind break I waited and waited... then impatience grabbed me and I stepped two steps forward to see what was happening. The big buck was a mere 60 yards away, soon to be 20 if I had stayed put. Schizen!
Zach - Yes, he was everything a man could ask. I attribute his excellence to the early training he received from sweet departed Happy.
Great Person - South of Kremlin, Montana my friend Frank and I drove into a large ranch and asked permission to hunt. The busy farmer “Chuck” said sure. A short time later he came to where we were hunting and suggested he had been rude. Heavens no we responded, but after visiting for 30 minutes we were shown numerous other properties under his control where we could hunt. As a bonus, he suggested we stop for lunch near his house and fish his pond for Rainbows and Browns. We did just that and caught and released many big whoppers. There are some great people on this Earth - Chuck fills the bill.
Upland Birds & CRP - We hunted Sharptail and Huns mostly on CRP (Crop Rotation Program) lands. We found lots of birds and concluded they liked CRP which includes some alfalfa. Coincidence?
Rather than getting too long winded, I will sign off. Oh yes I leave for Montana again this week for more Montana Adventures. Send me your hunting stories and your TruckVault Photos. Who knows what I may send your way?
