It seemed so long in coming but the time has finally arrived. I am off to Montana. Like most of you, I really look forward to fall. For the next couple of weeks the decision of the day will be , "Should I take Zach and chase upland birds? Should I get up way early, string up a broad head, then attempt to whistle up a big old bull? Or perhaps simply sleep in, enjoy a leisurely breakfast then lay a grasshopper or yellow humpy on the nose of a rainbow?" Decisions, decisions, decisions...

During the last few weeks I have spent a good deal of time getting ready to go. The preparation is nearly as pleasurable as going - messing about with arrows, shotguns, dog collars; making sure all is in order. Everything is packed with care in my TruckVault or SeatVault or simply in the back of the truck. More than likely most of you have been doing the same thing.
