When my dog Happy died back in February I promised to check on Pet Insurance and report back. Again, thank all of you who sent e-mails relating your own dog health issues and sympathy notes. More mail was generated by this issue than by any previous TruckVault News. Many of you commented on pet health insurance, more often the comments were favorable.

I checked several pet insurance companies and spoke with a number of you who responded and I feel that for most of us dog owners pet insurance is a very viable option. Most of us have invested a great deal of time and money into our hunting dogs, these same dogs are placed in the field where accidents are much more likely than when they are laying around the back yard.

Insurance can keep us from needing to make terribly tough decisions; do I put my good friend down or do I spend the thousands it takes to possibly save him? With insurance the answer is clear.

There are several companies providing insurance for your pet, check with your vet or shop on line.
