Earlier this summer I took a week long fishing and camping trip to Montana. I usually am well prepared. However this time I found I was not.

Montana was unusually dry and hot. When I found a delightful place to camp on Rock Creek just East of Missoula, I noticed a sign that said NO CAMPFIRES. Not a problem since I had intended to use my gas bottle propane stove. Good plan except that I had failed to check my bottle supply. I had one that was empty. This meant no hot food and no coffee in the morning. Before you head out make sure you check all of your supplies. I have now created a checklist that I can look at before every trip.
