Camp cooking for me usually involves that famous old cook Dinty
Moore. Well you won’t find Dinty Moore at the Highland Hills Ranch in Eastern
Oregon.
Recently we were invited to spend the weekend at this Orvis
Endorsed Lodge and hunting facility. Once you have passed the gate you can see
the lodge sitting majestically 3 miles up the road. The drive takes you past fields
of
millet,
standing corn, sunflowers and barley. All planted for the benefit of Highland
Hills Pheasants, Chucker, Quail and Deer. The hunting is
spectacular in its diversity of terrain and mix of wild and released birds.
Now back to the cooking. Anyone who has
seen
me knows I like food.....unfortunately it shows. But, I can say without the slightest
hesitation that the Highland Hills chefs prepare meals that cannot be rivaled
in any of the finest city restaurants.
Once in awhile we should all pass up the Dinty Moore and allow
ourselves the finer things of life. Highland Hills Ranch offers hunters and fisherman
a get-away of splendid quality. I wouldn’t say so if it weren’t so.

When
I travel I feel very secure knowing that my valuable firearms are locked securely
out of sight in my TruckVault.
Customers have told us hundreds of stories over the years about their theft experiences
prior to purchasing their TruckVaults. The saddest usually aren’t about
the Perazzi that was stolen, but rather, those relating how the model 12 that
was passed from Granddad to Dad and now to son was ripped off while stopping for
lunch.
Happy Hunting
