May has been an exceptionally exciting month for TruckVault culminating with the unveiling of our newest public safety command unit during a congressional tour of our plant on the 31st.
The "First Responder" is a state-of-the-art communications/command vehicle that incorporates the latest in high tech communications equipment housed within custom TruckVault cabinetry on a Chevy Suburban platform. We've partnered with electronics engineers to offer agencies an affordable multi-platform, interoperable communications systems suite that will allow them to build reliable communications networks in preparation for their involvement with national homeland defense efforts.
Some of the features of the First Responder include interoperable communications between numerous agencies on multiple radio systems, high bandwidth wireless communications, satellite link for voice and data transmission, on-board digital video capabilities, and a computer aimed surveillance telescope.
Agencies will be able to purchase a basic kit with
command module and communications equipment
for less than $10,000. Special pricing through GM
will allow us to offer a complete medium range
package mounted on a new Chevrolet Suburban
platform for under $50,000.
